Join us at the Griffith Avenue Mile Post Race Festival
The Griffith Avenue Mile has a core objective to promote community spirit and encourage social interaction between the young and old and all who live, work and play in and around Griffith Avenue. Plus, we love a good party!
So we’re very happy to announce the details of this year's Griffith Avenue Mile Post Race Festival.
We’re privileged to have the incredible support of Dublin City University, and are honoured that they allow us to use their beautiful All Hallows Campus on Grace Park Road as our Race HQ.
So after the races on Griffith Avenue are run, come celebrate a great community day there from 3:30pm to 6.30pm on Sunday September 22nd.
What can you expect?
Entertainment
Our MC for the afternoon will be none other than Tommy Martin, Sports Broadcaster and Journalist with Virgin Media TV.
We’ll be joined by Ceoltóirí Chluain Tarbh in what has now become an annual tradition on both Griffith Avenue, and at our post race event.
We’ll be entertained by Hawke The Band - a now well established new Irish band (in fact Hawke the Band have made their live TV debut on Sky Arts with ‘Christmas with Imelda May and Friends’ where they performed alongside icons such as Imelda May, Glen Hansard, Loah and John Sheahan of the Dubliners).
For the kids amongst us (young and old), we’ll see even more magic thanks to Reuben the Magician and of course we’ll have face painting and balloon modeling.
Food Stalls
Why not scrap the Sunday roast this week and come and enjoy the wonderful eclectic offerings from these wonderful vendors:
Alainn - coffee, superfood bowls, acai and more
Dos Burritos - the best Mexican food at any race, anywhere!
Kerala Kitchen - serving authentic Indian food since 2009
Larry's Burgers - what local event would be without them?!
Last Lap - providing coffee and pastry fixes to athletes at sporting events up and down the country
Pack's BBQ - burgers, chips and more to refuel after the race
Papa's Falafel - delicious wraps and salad plates with a Lebanese twist
Smith's Ice Cream Van - a big favourite with all our race participants.
Prize Giving
We hope to have some impressive performances from both the elite running field, and our young local athletes from Marino Athletics Club - and we’ll be awarding prizes across a broad range of categories.
Come along and cheer their results!
Photo Wall
Our photo wall will be making a return, so capture the memory of the 2024 race in style at our post race festival.
So come along.
We’d love to see everyone there for a fun filled afternoon from 3:30pm in DCU All Hallows.
