The Griffith Avenue Mile announces Childvision as its official charity partner for 2024

We are thrilled to announce that for the first time, The Griffith Avenue Mile will have an official charity partner for 2024, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter in our event’s history. This year, we are proud to partner with ChildVision, a local organisation dedicated to providing essential services and support for children with visual impairments and complex disabilities.

About The Griffith Avenue Mile
The Griffith Avenue Mile is not just a race; it’s a celebration of community, fitness, and inclusivity. Each year, participants of all ages and abilities come together to run, walk, or wheel along the scenic Griffith Avenue, fostering a spirit of togetherness and healthy living. Our mission is to promote physical activity while supporting and giving back to our community.

About ChildVision
ChildVision is Ireland’s National Education Centre for Blind Children. Their dedicated team offers a range of services including clinical, educational, and residential support for children and young people with visual impairments and other complex needs. Their innovative programmes and therapeutic services empower children to overcome challenges and reach their full potential.

The Partnership
This year’s partnership with ChildVision includes several key elements aimed at making a significant impact:

  • Fundraising: We will facilitate the opportunity to donate to ChildVision when purchasing your GAM race ticket. This will help purchase much-needed equipment for their pre-school, enhancing the learning and development environment for young children.
  • Promotion and Awareness: ChildVision’s services and mission will be highlighted in all our marketing and communications, helping to raise awareness and support for their important work.
  • Inclusion in the Race: We will collaborate with ChildVision to enable their students to participate in the race, emphasising our commitment to diversity and inclusion.
  • Pre and Post-Race Presence: ChildVision will have a dedicated space at our pre race registration and post-race event, offering them the opportunity to engage with the community and share information about their services. The ChildVision MDVI team will also have a presence onsite to showcase their handcrafted goods.
