Griffith Avenue Mile Art Competition 2024

It’s back! This year’s Griffith Avenue Mile art sheet can be accessed here.

It is back to school time and we are encouraging our kids to take part in the Griffith Avenue Mile Art competition. We will be circulating art sheets to the Junior schools in the coming week so please complete your sheet, add your name, age and parent phone number and bring to Race HQ at All Hallows on the 21st September. Prizes will be announced at the after event in All Hallows on the 22nd September.

You might be wondering why the competition this year is different to the colouring competition in previous years? With thanks to our charity partners Childvision, we've taken an approach to be more inclusive and accessible, to encourage participation by artists of all abilities. The art competition this year has adopted a more freestyle approach to enhance accessibility and creativity for all artists, including those with visual impairments.

This year we are also delighted to announce the Griffith Avenue Mile Open Art Competition with a prize for the Under 18 and Under 24 age category in addition to prizes for the art competition for the Junior schools.

The theme for the Art Competitions this year is ‘My Griffith Avenue Mile’ - so whether it is running, walking, the sense of community, the excellent Ceoltas players, our wonderful volunteers, the after party at All Hallows, the tree lined avenue, the face painting, the All Hallows grounds, the ice cream van or the sunny day ahead of us - please get arty!

All artwork should be submitted to us at Race HQ at Purcell House between 2pm and 4 pm on Saturday 21st September with the Open Art Competition application form attached, if applying in the U18 or U24 Open Art categories.

The competition rules are available here and for the U18 and U24 Open Art categories, the application form is here.

Any questions or queries on the art competition, please contact us.
