Former Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern adds his support for the Griffith Avenue Mile
August 20th, 2019 - Marino, Dublin – Former Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern has added his support for the upcoming Griffith Avenue Mile event on September 22nd.
A local resident, Bertie expresses his pride in the plans for the event and his wish that it become an annual community event.
"I had the privilege of being part of the 1983 Dublin Straight Mile and look forward to being at the new Griffith Avenue Mile Race on 22nd September 2019. This is a tremendous initiative, led by All Hallows Area Association and Marino Athletics Club, which promotes community spirit and encourages activity for all ages. As a local resident, I am proud to support it and hope it becomes an annual fixture on Griffith Avenue."
In an additional video message, Mr Ahern said:
“I'm very proud to support the Griffith Avenue Mile race which takes place on the 22nd of September. This will be a great event, so register now and make sure to be part of a great occasion" - Bertie Ahern
