DCU Athletes Demonstration 4x400m Relay Race
Griffith Avenue Mile will show case relay running at its best with a 4 x 400m relay demonstration by elite DCU athletes:
- Moya O'Connell – 400 m Hurdles PB 1:05, 100m Hurdles 15.79
- Oisin Kelly – 800m PB 1:51:97
- Emma Moore – 800m PB 2:07:98
- Callum Hurley – 800m PB 1:48:82
To follow on from the amazing performances of the Irish Womens and Mixed 4 x 400m relay teams at the European Athletics Championships in Rome, in June and the world class performances of the teams at the Olympics in Paris, in August, the Griffith Avenue Mile is delighted to bring relay running to the avenue with a 4 x 400m relay demonstration race.
Olympian, National Relay Team Member and National 400mt Champion, Jack Raftery will be the relay race starter when this years Griffith Avenue Mile showcases relay running at its best with a 4 x 400m relay demonstration by elite DCU athletes.
This demonstration event will be held on the 1st 400 metres of the mile course on the Avenue (Swords road end, outside the entrance to Dominican College) at 2:45pm, in advance of the full race which is scheduled for 3pm. All competitors lining up to run the mile will be able to watch this demonstration race while waiting to race themselves and see first-hand the speed of these superb athletes.
